Once heavily traveled, the Historic
National Road (US Route 40) now slides quietly through the gently rolling hills of eastern Licking County, Ohio.
There you can find a place that
harkens to the celebration of herbs.
20 Year
Anniversary 1988-2008
The only
thing great about getting older is that sometimes you get to do just
what you want. In our semi-sabbatical year, our 20th; getting back to the
garden is our reward and our best therapy. (It's like a mid-life bucket
list)
This past year
we started revamping some of the old gardens, ripping out plants, replacing
overgrown beds and dividing perennials. In our "green"
efforts we
are looking at plants that are not only lower maintenance but are more
colorful inter-planted with the herbs. You can share in some of our
gardening tips and join our garden blog. We'll add some insightful
information about other gardens we hope to visit this summer and some we've
visited in the past. England and France was great and we'd like to peruse
the world and plan another overseas trip.
We still
manufacture our copper garden markers; complete with common plant names and
botanical names,( it's the only product we wholesale) adding wildflower
plant markers this year. During Garden Celebration, we will sell the
plants we've chosen to grow this year; mostly in plant
combinations. We also
have propagated enough wildflowers to offer some for sale. Be sure to
visit the wildflower path! I hope to offer a few water garden plants, ones
that I want to plant at what I call 'seven rib falls'. Stop back to see the
finished photo later this summer and click on Waterfalls. It was a pretty
big project, 17 water reservoirs in all and the last one is 9'deep.
Garden Cafe
will still serve lunch for groups, garden clubs, bus tours and private
weddings by prior reservation only. The gift shop will be open then too and
during our scheduled events.
When I get the
shopping cart figured out you'll be able to order Susan Albert's China
Bayles Mystery Books and Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies online.
Just send an email until then.
